Yakima Valley Interpreting Service, Inc.

Yakima Valley Interpreting Service was originally founded in 1993. In 1995 it was renamed Interpreters United, until Sptember 2004. In September 2004 the original owners of Yakima Valley Interpreting Service decided to look into re-entering the DSHS/MAA/Medicaid interpreting services and Yakima Valley Interpreting Service was reborn. Yakima Valley Interpreting Service made its beginning with only two interpreters and only provided Spanish-English/English-Spanish. By the Fall of 1994 the agency was working with 19 interpreters, still in Spanish.

Currently we work with many different interpreters and translators. We can provide services in many languages. The most common we are requested to provide are Spanish, Russian, French, and German. We can provide for other languages on a need basis. In addition, we work with interpreters and translators in Canada, Mexico and Europe.

We introduced our first Internet precence in the Spring of 1996.
